In most cases, angiography is necessary for lesions of the arterial system; we can also make an imaging of the veins (phlebography), the lymphatic system (lymphography).

99.9% of procedures are performed under local anesthesia and / or minor intravenous sedation. Through special disposable vascular catheters, selective angiography of the area of interest is performed using a contrast agent based on iodine salts and fluoroscopy (radiography). In case of an allergic reaction to iodine or to a contrast agent, antiallergic preparation may be carried out before the procedure.
